Going out & getting dressed up is always fun on Halloween, but sometimes a girl just needs a night-in, some of her favorite candy, and a good face mask. Thankfully, we’ve got that gal covered! – xoxo, LK
Earlier this week I attempted to create a skeleton makeup tutorial for my post today. Unfortunately, it was way too complicated, took too long, and I didn’t want to share something unrealistic. Plus I got black and white face paint everywhere, which was NOT fun to clean up. We are busy gals with busy schedules, and don’t have time to paint our faces for over an hour. As I stood over my bathroom sink scrubbing my face in disappointment, I found myself wishing there was a cool Halloween mask that I could easily put on and take off.
Recently I took a trip to Sephora for some face cleanser, and saw this Boscia Pore-Minimizing Charcoal Hydrogel Mask for $8. I put it in my bag and thought I’d try it out later. Now I love getting dressed up as much as the next girl for Halloween – but I also love a quiet night in doing skin treatments. Then it clicked! The mask I bought is actually kind of skeleton-looking when I put it on, and it does incredible stuff for your skin! I thought to myself, there are plenty of us who might prefer to have a Halloween night in. So steal a few pieces of candy from the trick-or-treater bowl, put on a scary movie, and get ready to treat yo-self! We’re doing facials this Halloween!
Before beginning, stick the mask in the fridge to chill for about 5 minutes. The cold mask will help reduce any inflammation.
First, start by cleansing your skin. I love this new Purity Cleanser by Philosophy. Make sure to remove all your makeup and pat dry when done.
Take a hot, damp washcloth and steam your face for about 3 minutes. This will help open the pores so that the mask can draw out all impurities.
Next remove the facial mask from the package and follow the instructions to adhere to your face. Leave it on for about 20-30 minutes and carefully remove.
I was very surprised with my results when I took the mask off. I could tell that my pores were definitely smaller, making my blackheads teeny tiny! Because the price of this mask is so low, I would recommend doing one at least once a week. I know I’ll definitely be wearing one on Halloween this year, attempting to scare the trick-or-treaters that come to my door. Nothing will be more frightening than me with no makeup on!
