Hey friends! Sylvia here & today I am showing you how to make the most amazing scrub. This coconut and coffee scrub is absolutely perfect for your face and body when they need a little TLC this winter. Specifically, the scrub helps with the following:

– Exfoliates Skin (brown sugar)

– Diminishes appearance of cellulite and also acts as a mild exfoliant (fresh coffee grounds)

– Moisturizes, hydrates & smooths your skin (Organic raw unrefined coconut oil)

– Cleanses the skin – gets rid of dead skin and blackheads and dark circles! (Almond Oil) *optional* It’s also packed with Vitamin E (great for skin) and very high in antioxidants

PSL BODY SCRUB

IMG_6183

Well, if you can’t drink it, use it as a scrub? Just kidding, but seriously – we might have just completed the perfect Pumpkin Spice Latte circle with this new DIY body scrub. It’s amazing, it does an amazing job, and you basically smell like Autumn all the time. Don’t hate the PSL until you’ve tried it 😉 – xoxo, LK

Hooray! Yesterday was the first official day of Fall! I couldn’t be more excited for the season of changing leaves, sweaters, and of course hot Starbucks! The Pumpkin Spice Latte is surely the biggest hit once September arrives. It’s warm flavor mixed with just the right amount of spice is the perfect addition to the changing season. While I myself am not a coffee drinker, whenever a friend orders a PSL I can’t help but want to bury my nose in their cup and keep the scent with me all day. Of course as a beauty junkie, I had to figure out how to replicate the scent in some sort of skin product. I am a huge advocate for scrubs, and making homemade ones is one of my favorite things to do! So after a bit of experimenting in the kitchen, I finally found the perfect balance to making your very own PSL Body Scrub!

INGREDIENTS:

– 1/2 cup ground coffee beans

– 2 tbs coconut oil

– 1 tsp pumpkin spice

– 1 tsp vanilla extract

– 1 tsp Himalayan pink salt

*Makes enough for one full body scrub use.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Simply combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix with a spoon.

2. Make sure your coconut oil is room temperature. It may not look all that appealing, but it smells like heaven!

3. Store in an airtight container in the fridge until use

WHEN YOU ARE READY TO USE:

1. For best results, take a hot shower so that your pores can open up and be ready for cleansing.

2. I recommend stepping out of the water or turning it off to apply the scrub. Apply in circular motions all over your body, then let it sit for 5-10 minutes so it can soak up all the goodness from the coffee and coconut oil.

3. Rinse off and pat dry.

4. There will likely be some oil on the bottom of your shower, so take caution while stepping out not to slip!

5. Feel how amazing & soft your new PSL kissed skin feels!

The other great thing about this scrub is because of the amount of coconut oil, it isn’t dry, and can be easily be applied to dry skin as well! Just be sure you do it in the shower to avoid coffee grounds all over your floor. Again, apply in circular motions, let it sit for a few minutes, then rinse off.

After my initial use of the PSL Body Scrub, I found myself back in the kitchen making more. Not only does it smell divine, your skin will fill silky smooth afterward. I am so excited to use this throughout the dry fall and winter seasons – I may even make some as little gifts for my girlfriends!

BLOKE BODY SCRUB

IMG_2233.JPGI have a confession. I struggle with seriously dry skin. Maybe you’re thinking, “Oh, Breann, we all do!” No you guys, I’m not being dramatic, I have really terrible skin. Truth be told, it’s always been something I’m slightly embarrassed about. My legs always turn ashy a few hours after I apply lotion, and my arms and back are never as silky smooth as I like. That being said, I know we’ve talked about body scrubs and the importance of exfoliating regularly here at Lauren Kelp. It’s one of the best things you can do for the health of your skin, plus it makes you look so good! In my time I’ve tried a lot of different body scrubs. From high end to low at beauty stores, all the way to making my own (which I still do on occasion), I feel like I’ve seen it all and nothing has really been the absolute best. That was until I discovered Bloke Body Scrubs. Initially what drew me to Bloke was their on-point packaging and branding. However, once I opened that bag, my entire world changed. Well, my exfoliating world that is.

They have 3 different types of body scrubs, but I went with the Coffee & Sweet Orange for my first use. I wanted to bury my nose in the bag so I could smell it all day, it’s THAT good. It helps that the ingredients are natural and organic too! I started off by taking a nice long soak in a hot bath, which is one of my favorite things. The instructions ask you to rub a small amount of the product onto damp skin, so I drained the water and scrubbed away, focusing on problem areas like my elbows, legs, and heels. I could immediately tell it was unlike anything I had ever used. My arms have been particularly scaly this season, and the scrub worked some serious magic on them.

After I had everything scrubbed in, I let it sit for about 10 mins on my body and gently rubbed onto my face. Yes, you can use this stuff on your face! After the time was up I started up the shower and rinsed off. Let me tell you, with the steam and the scent of the scrub I was in heaven! When I was all dried off, I went to grab some coconut oil for moisture until I touched my arms and legs. I didn’t even need any at that point! The scrub already moisturizes for you.

IMG_2234.JPG

IMG_2235.JPGOne thing I love about it is you don’t have to scrub too hard to give your skin a good exfoliation. I applied hardly any pressure and my skin was silky afterward. The coffee is the real miracle worker of this product though. Per the Bloke website:

The coffee’s caffeine stimulates blood flow and targets cellulite and stretch marks. The raw brown sugar and sea salt exfoliate dead skin cells to keep your skin smooth and glowing. It also has the perfect amount of coconut oil to keep your skin moisturized and healthy.”

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that Bloke Body Products get the Lauren Kelp Beauty stamp of approval! For only $14.95 per scrub, we highly recommend them to all of our readers!
